When I first came across EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), I wasn’t even thinking about manifestation. I certainly wasn’t thinking about creating my dream life. Honestly? I just wanted to feel marginally better than I did.
At that time, I was in the depths of an OCD spiral. If you’ve ever been there, you’ll know how consuming it is – like your mind has become a never-ending storm you can’t escape. I couldn’t see a way out. My intrusive thoughts felt like facts, and I was in a constant loop of hypervigilance and fear.
Through a combination of exposure therapy and mostly EFT, I found my way back to myself. EFT helped me get to the root of what was going on for me, beyond the surface-level symptoms. It wasn’t just about calming down in the moment; it was about releasing what was buried deep—the old fears, the unresolved memories, the nervous system dysregulation that kept me stuck.
And, whilst that was all well and good…. What I didn’t foresee happening? EFT would completely change the way I approached manifestation.
Manifestation Before EFT: The Trap of Toxic Positivity
Before EFT, I used to subscribe to very basic manifestation advice:
“Just think about what you want.”
“Stay positive.”
“Monitor every thought.”
Sound familiar?
That approach left me exhausted and disconnected. The harder I tried to “Be positive!” the more it amplified the shame when I couldn’t. Every time a fear popped up, I’d panic:
“I’m going to manifest something bad because I thought a negative thought!”
The truth? You don’t need to be fearful of Negative thoughts with The Law of Attraction.
Your thoughts or triggers are sacred invitations to heal. They are showing you what is standing between you and what you desire. When you learn to work with them instead of resisting them, everything shifts.
The starting point for everything that you desire, is where you are at right now.
Why EFT Is So Effective (and So Aligned with Manifestation)
Here’s why EFT became the missing link for me- and why I believe it changes the entire manifestation game:
1. It Brings the Mind-Body Connection Back Into the Equation
What isn’t touched on enough in the world of Manifestation is how we store everything in the body—the joy, the trauma, the memories we’d rather forget.
Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotion, explains that our bodies are like living archives. Every experience is recorded in our cells. Think of your body like a massive, subconscious database: some of the programs are helpful, but many are outdated, still running scripts from decades ago.
Those old scripts are the ones whispering:
“Money isn’t safe.”
“Love will hurt me.”
“Success means sacrifice.”
EFT works directly with this stored information. When we tap, we disrupt this energy within our nervous system (often that has been stored within our bodies for a really long time!)
Our neural pathways are like old VHS video tapes (I’m showing my age here!), and the work that we do with EFT, allows us to tape over it- we can rewrite the stories that exist within us.
By tapping on specific points while tuning into an emotion or belief, you signal safety to the nervous system, disrupt old neural patterns, and create space for new ones.

2. It Creates Real Change at the Subconscious Level
The subconscious mind runs the show—around 95% of your thoughts and behaviours happen on autopilot. This is why “thinking positive” only works for so long. Affirmations won’t stick if the subconscious mind doesn’t buy it.
As well as that, you can think about what you desire as much as you like, but ultimately, if it’s not the conscious mind that is manifesting, it’ll only do so much!
EFT speaks the language of the subconscious because it involves both the mind and the body. It opens up a dialogue between the two- which is so important because the body IS the Subconscious mind.
To reiterate- the body is where we store everything.
So we have to work with the body in order to be able to shift what is no longer serving us, and vibrationally align with what is!
3. It Makes Manifestation Feel Safe and Sustainable
Manifestation isn’t about controlling every thought—it’s about aligning your energy. But alignment isn’t possible when your nervous system is in fight-or-flight. EFT helps you regulate. It helps you feel safe to receive.
When I first experienced that feeling of safety after my OCD recovery, so many effortless synchronicities started occurring in my life.
We attract what we’re vibrationally aligned to- so when your vibration is giving regulation, safety and ease… just think of what you are drawing in.
And here’s the main thing to know- we cannot get there by acting on top of how we really feel.
When we are honour where we are at, and use tools like EFT to process, integrate, release and rewire…
That’s when magic happens.
My Healing (And Manifestation) Isn’t Linear—And That’s Ok
I talk a lot about my healing journey because it’s the foundation of everything I teach. But let me be clear: it’s not a straight line. I still have days where old patterns creep in, where fear resurfaces. The difference now? I have the tools.
Instead of spiralling, I tap. Instead of shaming myself for feeling triggered, I get curious about it. I ask, What is this showing me? What’s ready to be released?
That’s the beauty of EFT—it doesn’t just help you manifest more money, love, or success (though it can absolutely do that). It helps you manifest a life where you feel safe in your body, grounded in your power, and connected to your truth.
And that? That’s real freedom.
Final Thoughts
If manifestation has ever felt like pressure- like you’re doing it wrong, or like it only works for people who “never think negative thoughts”—please know this: you’re not broken. You don’t need to try harder; you need to go deeper.
EFT takes you there. It helps you clear the old stories, regulate your nervous system, and rewire the patterns that have been running your life.
Because when your body feels safe and your subconscious is on board, manifestation stops being a struggle- and starts feeling like coming home.
Authentically attracting as always,
Rachel x
